EUA acredita que líder do EI está vivo

Washington, 31 dez 2016 (AFP) - O Pentágono disse nesta sexta-feira que acredita que o chefe do grupo jihadista Estado Islâmico (EI), Abu Bakr Al Bagdadi, está vivo, apesar das numerosas operações realizadas pela coalizão liderada pelos Estados Unidos para matá-lo. "Acreditamos que Al-Bagdadi está vivo e segue liderando o ISIL (acrônimo do EI). Obviamente estamos fazendo tudo o que podemos para monitorar seus movimentos", disse o porta-voz do Pentágono Peter Cook à rede de televisão CNN. "Se tivermos a oportunidade, sem dúvida aproveitaremos para levá-lo à Justiça".
