A stretch of sand on Copacabana Beach dawned on Saturday, March 27, with masks painted red to demand the resignation of President Michel Temer and political reform. The protest was carried out by the NGO Rio de Paz, in front of Avenida Princesa Isabel.

The 595 scattered masks represent the 81 senators, 513 federal deputies and the president of the Republic. They were painted red because, according to the organizers, "it symbolizes the shame that should be stamped on the face of the Brazilian political class."

The same demonstration was held at the Esplanada dos Ministérios in Brasilia on Tuesday, 23. The group also called for "swift changes in electoral legislation" to "combat the low qualification of its representatives."
